Explore many wonders of the jungle and learn how God made all animals and people in delightfully unique ways with Kristie Wilde’s latest book, It’s a Jungle in Here. The rich message leaps off the page with the words “God loves variety so . . .  He made lots of it in the jungle. He made butterflies that stand out . . .” And the lively illustrations almost dance with excitement. Children will sense that these animals are enjoying life as they are busy doing what animals do. And while they are learning about the animals, children are also learning about how unique and just right they themselves were created by God.

Most of the pages are written for younger children, but there are two additional pages at the back of the book that share many fascinating facts about the animals in the jungle. Pictures  accompany the facts so children can make connections to where they appeared in the book.

What I like best about this book: It’s hard to choose – The pictures are cheery, accurate, and delightful. The story line makes a perfect read-aloud for very small children, and an easy read for beginning readers. Every page points to our creator God and his love for variety.

What I like least about this book: I had to look really hard to find anything I didn’t like. The only thing I think could have improved the book is to have included an overweight child in the group picture or a child with some deformity. But this omission doesn’t take away from the value of this treasure of a book.

I give It’s a Jungle in Here 5 smiley faces out of 5.
