Ducker at the Indy500 Parade
Wow! This parade is fantastic. Look at that car. Wish I could ride in it. Wouldn't that be fun!

A Ducker’s Adventures story

Mrs. Green put me in a flat box and mailed me to her friend Miss Megan in Indianapolis, Indiana so I could enjoy the Indianapolis 500 events that happen every May. It was a dark and scary ride through the mail, but it was worth it. My new friend let me be a part of the fun and excitement surrounding the 100th Anniversary running of “The Greatest Specticle in Racing” Indianapolis 500. Wow!

I love the bands. I started to sing along. When people looked at me funny Miss Megan just laughed. I guess the band was loud enough to drown me out.

We went to the 500 Parade. Miss Megan says May is one of the most family friendly events ever when all the racing stuff happens. She says this race is the second largest annual parade in the country (after Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade)! Wow! There were well over 300,000 people (and one duck – that’s ME) who lined the street to see the 33 starting drivers, celebrities, marching bands, big balloons and cultural delegations. I had so much fun waving to the service men and women in the parade and dancing to the music!

I wanted to ride the motorcycle but Miss Megan said she was afraid she wouldn't be able to find me when the race was over. It was so much fun at the big parade.

Ducker loves to travel and visit new places. Sometimes he gets restless and quacks and quacks begging Mrs. Green to find someplace where he can go. He travels with the help of the Post Office most of the time since that is cheaper than airline tickets. Contact Janice D. Green if you would like to host Ducker for a visit to someplace special. He behaves himself most of the time.
