As a Christian Mom I never tire of reading books on the creation of God’s making. Similar of course as they are taken from the Bible in their retelling. I enjoyed Janice D. Green’s retelling of the Creation in her making it easy to understand for toddler to elementary aged children. She retold the verses in Genesis, illustrated with a quilt block Bible quilt concept. She asked thought provoking questions after each retelling of the Word, to get the child thinking about how creation has affected them personally.
I loved how the first page was blank other than the words, when the earth had no shape and it was dark. Being a quilter I loved the concept of a Bible story quilt, which she derives her illustrations from throughout the book. I have worked on women of the Bible quilt blocks, and just love this idea of making one with the days of creation and progressing past that for the kids to utilize in memorizing Biblical stories, and wrapping them in the Word of God!Beautifully done book!
I received a copy of this book from Book Crash in exchange for an honest review.
