I found an artsy-craftsy blog today that had the most darling Bible carriers for her children’s new Bibles. They were made to fit their individual Bibles and had special places for color pencils or crayons and paper for them to be able to occupy themselves in “big church.” Check out her blog at The Pleated Poppy.
I was in for a treat today. Actually it started about two days ago when I noticed a flash of red in my dogwood tree. I watched closely expecting to see a bright red cardinal, when in the same spot I briefly saw gray and white and thought I had seen a mockingbird. I listened to the song Mary Did You Know? several times this evening. Isn’t that what Christmas is really all about? Mary had a baby whose father was God. A great way to keep Christ in Christmas is to make and use a family Advent Wreath. The Advent Wreath lies flat on a table. Nested in the circular wreath are four purple candles (or three purple and one pink) and usually one white candle in the center. There is a ceremony that goes with the lighting of the candles, with one candle to be lit on each Sunday in Advent (starting four weeks before Christmas.) The four candles stand
