Visiting the Dorothy Molter Museum

Home/Ducker's Adventures/Visiting the Dorothy Molter Museum

Ms. Terry took me to the Dorothy Moulter Museum. She was known by everyone around Ely as the Root Beer Lady.  Here is a link to the Museum web page: http://www.rootbeerlady.com

Dorothy Molter Statue
This is a statue of Dorothy Molter. It's a good thing she is a statue or she would be frozen by now.
Dorothy's Root Beer
Ely is the home of the "giant taste" of Dorothy's famous Root Beer. It would take a giant to drink a bottle of root beer this big. WOW, it's huge!
Dorothy's Memorial Service on Knife Lake had nearly 1,000 to pay respects. She died in 1986.
Julia Roberts in Ely
Hollywood star Julia Roberts visited Dorothy in 1984! Cool!
Dorothy Molter and Bob Cary
The late Bob Cary (left) wrote the Root Beer Lady book. He also painted a mural in Ely. See the picture we posted on Feb. 3. Beside Bob Cary's picture is another great picture of Dorothy (right).

Here is a link to more information about Bob Cary: http://www.jackpinebobcary.com/ He was a super cool guy too!

Ducker loves to travel and visit new places. Sometimes he gets restless and quacks and quacks begging Mrs. Green to find someplace where he can go. He travels with the help of the Post Office most of the time since that is cheaper than airline tickets. Contact Janice D. Green if you would like to host Ducker for a visit to someplace special. He behaves himself most of the time.
