Make a Bible quilt

Try your hand at making a Bible quilt. There are many ways to do it. Some require no sewing.

I have begun a new blog dedicated solely to ways to make Bible quilts and wall hangings. I hope Bible quilters will collaborate there with me and share ideas for making quilts for children’s beds as well as wall hangings for home or church.

  1. I really love your website. I am studying to be a teacher/counselor and just relish finding ideas to incorporate into my teaching. I am doing something similar to this, but a quilt of America. :)

  2. This is so clever Janice! I’m not sure my two have the patience for this yet, but maybe when they’re older.

Let them start by coloring the pieces on paper and arranging them on the wall like a quilt. When they are older they can try it on fabric.

I love your Bible quilting. My husband loves to teach on Creation. We plan to attend Ken Ham’s Creation museum in KY. I hear it is awesome. We met Ken Ham at a church in Youngstown , Ohio years ago. May God richly bless you as you complete your book. I will be looking for it. Also May God shower you will blessing today. Thank you for your comment. I too have been to the Creation Museum in KY and think it is fantastic! I appreciate the prayers. It will take a long time to create the Bible quilt I am designing as I go.

I came across the pic of your Bible quilt on the QB today – AWESOME! I LOVE, LOVE it! I’ve forwarded your website to our church’s childrens’ coordinator. I’d like to see our children make a similar quilt. Anything we can do to make the stories of the Bible come alive for our kids…I’m all for it! I’ve completely been side-tracked this morning, reading your blog & singing the familiar songs in my head :) “He’s Still Working on Me” is a family favorite – one we used exactly as you mention. When we stumble, or ‘mess up’ one of the children was bound to break into a refrain of “HSWOM” :) Precious then & a precious memory now! God Bless your endeavors Janice! And thank you for sharing with us all.

Thank you Cindy for your enthusiastic response. I’m thrilled that you have shared my website with the children’s coordinator. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. And please email me some pictures if the youth do this project. I would love to post them on my blogs, both this blog as well as http://www.biblequilts.com.

Thanks for sharing and giving others great suggestions. Keep up the good fight. Great name too. My formal real name is Janice. Had a boyfriend call me Jan ICE so hated it. Now I’m just Jan.
Also call myself “queen” and my cat “princess.”
    Blessings!

Hi Jan, and thanks for posting your nice comments. I’ve met you in a chat room for authors once. I can understand not liking the ICE part. I had a boyfriend who saw “nice” in it, which wasn’t so bad.
